Our values


Visiting our Don Mills offices, you’ll find that we proudly display our corporate values on our walls (and elevators) for all to see.  But they’re more than just part of the décor.  To us, they’re a steady compass that guides everything we do.

To be honest, we didn’t write out strict guidelines to adhere to. We simply made a list of the things that make us feel good about how we do things. As a company we discovered that we value having a safe place to learn and the freedom to try new things. We are defined by our solution-oriented focus. Everyone at Wynford values taking personal ownership for their actions and responsibilities. Bernie Koth and Debi Niven,
Presidents and Partners

Wynford’s Co-Presidents chose different paths on their way into the travel industry – Debi starting on the ground floor of Canada’s first tour company, and Bernie filling his backpack and touring the world. Yet in the process, each gained a unique perspective into the industry that has helped cement their partnership, and inspire Wynford’s unique corporate culture.

Debi is a firm believer in the transformative power of valuing your people. She is a champion of business excellence and unparalleled client service, while promoting a playful, positive, and balanced work environment. Debi’s unique superpower is her ability to see both the big picture and sweat the details at the same time. She visualizes events as perfect creations of content and captivation, then designs programs that bring talent and creative elements together to make the magic happen.

Bernie is all about the experience. Having travelled the world over, he knows firsthand the power of new encounters to reshape personal outlooks. He has also witnessed on countless occasions the transformative ability of shared experiences to build teams, enhance corporate cultures, and strengthen loyalty. Bernie has a formidable gift for matching clients with great ideas, and for pushing them a little out of their comfort zones towards happy discoveries, while ensuring both sides of the client-agency partnership are focused, connected, and having fun, all at the same time.

Perri Berton and Nathan Barnes,
Vice Presidents

As the leader of Wynford’s Account Services, Creative and Production resources, Perri’s core focus is on taking the time to truly understand our clients’ businesses and motivational needs. While Perri brings over thirty years of indispensable experience in marketing communications and event management to the table, it is her embodiment of the Wynford spirit that energizes our teams to develop and execute winning programs – and create happy clients.

Leading Wynford’s hallmark operational capabilities is Perri’s counterpart, Nathan Barnes. Nathan first demonstrated his leadership skills as the head of our IT department, branching out to encompass our Air resources before joining Perri as a Vice President. While his background provides him a deep understanding of the nuts and bolts that run the systems, Nathan’s true talent lies in putting their capabilities to work in more effectively influencing behaviours and motivating audiences.

Perri and Nathan, together with our Co-Presidents, guide the people, processes and strategies that make every Wynford project run like a well-oiled machine.

Positive thinking leads to positive doing


Our many years of experience with corporate clients has also provided us insights into audiences outside our normal scope.

For years, Wynford has partnered with ‘adopted’ public schools in our neighbourhood to share our passion to grow, improve, and celebrate success.  Our shared activities include fundraising, character-building programs, and the most mouthwatering multicultural potluck lunches you could ever imagine.

And what goes around, comes around.  Our staff comes away from interactions with schools genuinely inspired, an energy they take back to their work with our clients.  Perhaps it was the schools that actually adopted us.

Our belief in motivating positive behaviour led us to develop a unique program to support the Toronto District School Board’s BUILD CHARACTER, BUILD SUCCESS initiative.
